About the cluBk
Established in 1992 by the Paul Waggett and Nigel Wood, Shelf Juniors AFC has grown into a cornerstone of the Shelf community in West Yorkshire. As a Community Chartered Standard Football Club with charity status, we are dedicated to fostering a passion for football across all age groups and abilities.
We take pride in offering footballing opportunities for boys and girls from under 6s to open-age teams, ensuring that every player, regardless of experience, has the chance to develop their skills in a fun, inclusive, and supportive environment. Our club includes a thriving youth setup as well as competitive open-age squads such as Shelf AFC and Shelf Juniors Sunday, providing a clear pathway for players to continue their footballing journey into adulthood.
Our home ground at Westwood Park in Bradford serves as the heart of our activities, where we host matches, training sessions, and community events. We emphasize not just footballing ability but also teamwork, discipline, and respect—values that help shape well-rounded individuals both on and off the pitch.
With a dedicated team of FA-qualified coaches, volunteers, and supporters, Shelf Juniors AFC is more than just a football club; it is a family, committed to inspiring the next generation of footballers while strengthening our local community. Whether you’re looking to join a team, volunteer, or support grassroots football, Shelf Juniors AFC welcomes you!
